Fostering Inclusivity and Support for LGBTQ+ Older Adults in Kansas City
Join KC Shepherd’s Center for an impactful roundtable discussion on how we can work together to create a more inclusive and supportive community for LGBTQ+ older adults.
At our second Older Adult LGBTQ+ Coalition Roundtable, we will continue the critical conversations started during our first meeting, where 25 participants from the LGBTQ+ community voiced the need for spaces that prioritize inclusivity, equity, and support.
Why This Matters
LGBTQ+ older adults face unique challenges, including barriers to equitable housing, healthcare, senior living, and inclusive worship environments. They also experience poverty and lack of access to resources at rates 2-3 times higher than their peers. KC Shepherd’s Center is honored to lead coalition-building efforts and advocate for changes in policy and practices that ensure all older adults can live with dignity, respect, and joy.
