January 9: Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge
The flood of 1993 destroyed the bottomland forest, which was the dominant habitat along the lower part of the Missouri River. Join us to learn about this Refuge established in 1994 from St. Louis to Kansas City.
Today a young growth of gallery forests covers several thousand acres providing a habitat important to migratory songbirds and raptors as well as many animals, reptiles and amphibians. Tim Haller, Visitor Services Manager at US Fish and Wildlife Services, will guide us in this journey concentrating on an area near Booneville called Jackass Bend.
January 16: Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
More than 100 galleries make up the Museum of Fine Arts. It is one of the top things to do in Boston and is the 20th largest art museum in the world, measured by the public gallery area. It is one of the most comprehensive collections in the Americas and has over a million visitors each year. It is affiliated with the School of Fine Arts at Tufts. Along with a history and overview, we hope to view work by VanGogh.
January 23: The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art
Join us for a virtual tour of The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, led by Giovana Perez-Olivaras, Arts & Health Program Coordinator. We will explore its fascinating history, cultural legacy in Sarasota, Florida, and masterpieces from the museum's permanent collection. Highlights include Peter Paul Rubens, Triumph of the Eucharist, John Ringling's bronze David and other works by the Old Masters. Discover art that educates, inspires, and entertains.
January 30: William J. Clinton Presidential Library
The library has three floors. Permanent exhibit highlights include the presidential limo, an Oval Office replica, and reminders of some memorable visitors. One temporary exhibit is of the Portraits of President Clinton. He was the 42nd President of the United States of America and served from 1993-2001.
