Alice Kilic
Alice Kilic, 81
Alice grew up as an “army brat,” living in homes around the world. She graduated from high school and had her first three jobs in Frankfurt, Germany. For most of her life, she moved to a new city every four years or so but has now been in Kansas City longer than any other city, and says, “God couldn’t have dumped me in a better place.” She has been one of the most dedicated volunteers for the KC Shepherd’s Center Adventures in Learning program for the past eight years, arriving early and preparing the refreshments every Friday – and she stays afterwards to break down, as well. She also volunteers in the KCSC central office, doing whatever is needed. She says, “Everywhere I turn there are opportunities to reach out, hold a hand, serve a coffee, wipe up a spill, SMILE and TALK with others.”
