“Allen rarely has to be asked for his help, because he regularly steps forward and offers his help, advice and skills (which are numerous),” says Allen’s nominator. After an active career in College Administration at locations including the Kansas City Art Institute, he ended his career in commercial banking at UMB. He is now an active member of the KC Plaza Rotary Club and Rotary International. He is an active member of the club’s Social Justice Committee and works with their Urban Ranger Corps, working alongside at-risk inner-city boys and young men at neighborhood volunteer opportunities. Allen is also an active member at First Lutheran Church, where he has served as Council President and has been a long-time leader on the church’s Property Committee. He also was an active member of the congregation’s Minor Home Repair Team.
