Bonnaye Mims
Bonnaye Mims, 71
Dedicating her life to public service, Bonnaye has held a variety of elected positions in Missouri for most of her adult life. She is a former state legislator, and a former member of the Hickman Mills School Board, where she served as president for four years and was re-elected in 2024. She currently is a Raytown Alderwoman, serving on the Finance, Policy, and Ethic committees. She serves on the boards of the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program and the Fire Department Advisory Board. Bonnaye has been an election judge for 54 years and has a passion for teaching young people about the importance of voting. In 2006, she retired after 42 years as department coordinator in forensic services for the Department of Mental Health (Western Missouri Mental Health Center) and currently volunteers as an advocate for mental health services and conflict resolution. She also serves on the board of the Raytown Shepherd’s Center.
