Carla Grant, 71
Carla spent most of her career at the Federal Aviation Administration but branched out throughout the community after her retirement in 2010. She began volunteering at the Lakeside Nature Center in Swope Park and is still volunteering there today, 24 years later. In 2011, she began volunteering at KC Shepherd’s Center as technical support for the Adventures in Learning speaker series, another job which she continues to this day. Carla also served six years on the Board for Shepherd’s Center, serving on the Nominating Committee and the Relocation Committee, which allowed the organization to expand its existing services to serve even more older adults.
