Carol Graves

Carol Graves, 74

Carol’s passion and most rewarding professional activities have always been in the field of special education and higher education. She has served as a social worker for the state, a teacher at the Niles Home, and a Jackson County Court Youth Worker. She is still working today as a resource teacher for the Kansas City Public Schools, a role she has held for the past 21 years, and which has impacted the lives of hundreds of children. In addition to still working full-time, she serves on the Hickman Mills School Board, influencing the future of students in her community. She has participated in many charitable and educational activities via her affiliation with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She has maintained her ability to serve others despite facing serious health issues, and she was the proud recipient of a kidney transplant in 2023.
