Carol and KB are staunch neighborhood advocates in south Kansas City. Carol has served as president of the Center Planning and Development Council since 2006 and also serves on the Kansas City Neighborhood Advisory Council. KB serves on the board of the South Kansas City Alliance and previously served as mayoral appointee to the KC Port Authority. As a team, Carol and KB have led many efforts to strengthen neighborhoods from providing forums for projects and issues and making appearances at city boards, committees and council meetings to being catalyst for ordinances and policy revisions. Their most significant achievement was the passage of the Kansas City billboard ordinance which limits the size, height and location of billboards. This was a 3-year effort. Carol is also an avid peony grower and has served on the Heartland Peony Society Board.
