Carol has dedicated her career to education and has continued that mission since her retirement in 2013. During her career, Carol served as a Higher Education Student Affairs Administrator and held positions in public and private universities and colleges. She received her Doctor of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2004. After her retirement, she moved to Kansas City in 2015 and immediately became active in our community. Carol currently serves as the Policy Chair for the Kansas City branch of the American Association of University Women. She volunteers both with Free Hot Soup, which provides nutritious meals to houseless, food-insecure persons, and with the Hunger Outreach Team at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. Carol is also the volunteer coordinator for Carver Amigos, a Kansas City Public bilingual school, where she serves as a reading tutor for students. She and her husband, Jim Fletcher, have six adult children and 11 grandchildren.
