Jeffrey Roitman, 79
Jeffrey served as Director of Cardiac Rehab at Research Medical Center for 27 years, and his impact in our community has been profound. He initiated and nurtured transformative programs, from university-based fitness initiatives to large-scale cardiac rehabilitation programs. His contributions extend to academia, where he developed an Exercise Science major and has published numerous articles and books in the areas of exercise and cardiac health. In retirement, he is active in volunteering for the Jewish Community Center, Village Shalom, and even dedicating time abroad in volunteer work with the IDF in Israel. He is also active at the Jewish Family Services food pantry, where clients often provide feedback on the great experience Jeffrey has provided for them. His nominator says, “Jeff’s multifaceted impact, from global service to local community building, embodies the spirit of lifelong learning, service and meaningful engagement, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps and make a difference in the world.”
