In 2001, Lea says her “life changed forever in a heartbeat’ when her husband suffered a massive
heart attack and died. At that time they were building a house and her husband was the general
contractor. Lea had to finish the house to sell it. When a friend suggested that she get her real
estate license and sell it herself, Lea jumped in. Today, she is a Senior Real Estate Specialist
passionate about helping seniors and widows sell their homes when they are ready. As past
president of Kansas Residential Real Estate Specialists, Lea educates clients on options to best
meet their needs. She also served as a board member and active volunteer for Heartland Widowed
Persons Services and a board member for a local Christian youth organization. She currently serves
as President of Heartland Partners in Caring, a nonprofit serving the local real estate community
when sudden unplanned financial disaster hits. She serves on the board of Living Waters Christian
Canoe Ministry which provides family-friendly canoeing and kayaking experiences.
