Marylou Turner, 85
If you look at a list of nonprofits in our community, you will find Marylou’s name associated with many of them. She has tirelessly devoted her time, talent and resources as president of the Symphony League, chair of the Symphony Ball, Symphony Board of Directors, honorary chair for Spofford, president of Sigma Kappa Alumnae Chapter, president of the Women’s Committee for UMKC Conservatory, KU Corporate Board of Sigma Kappa, and membership chair of KC Rose Society. She currently is serving as mentoring chair of the Volunteer Council and on the Finance Committee of the Sigma Kappa Foundation. Marylou has been a member of the Women’s Committee for the UMKC Conservatory since 1993 and has been instrumental as women’s committee chair of the Conservatory’s Student Scholarship and Funding Endowment, which has awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships to UMKC students.
