Judy and Pat have spent more than 45 years in the senior living arena as owners of McCrite Plaza Luxury Senior Living in Kansas City and Topeka. As they were building their business, they also were busy raising five children, all of whom were involved in the retirement community. “Judy and I designed our business to be a home, not a ‘facility’,” says Pat. As their business flourished, they added independent and assisted living apartments, providing a full continuum of care for elders. They broke ground this spring to add rehabilitation services, memory care and long-term skilled care to the community. Pat was most excited when they opened a facility in Briarcliff, “giving me the chance to return to my roots and the community where I grew up, and being able to keep my kids involved in the business and our grandchildren close by.”
