Ray Hill, age +70
A native of Oklahoma, Ray spent more than 30 years as a Middle School Social Studies and English teacher in the KCMO and Center School Districts. After retiring, he has taken his passion for teaching to a new level. In 1989 he became a National Geographic Teacher Consultant and received training to teach National Geography Standards developed by the National Geographic Society. This allowed him the opportunity to travel to locations and speak with people he taught about worldwide. His photography hobby became a teaching tool as well. With photos and a carousel slide projector, he has shared his traveling experiences with students and the public. He also spends time volunteering at his church, cooking, watching the Chiefs and his newest hobby, wood sculpting. He also enjoys traveling, occasionally on his Hog - Harley Davidson.
