Steve’s career spans a wide diversity of activities, from serving as a legislative assistant to former US Senator Tom Eagleton to banking to serving as publisher of the Kansas City Business Journal, to being Senior Vice President at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. In 2003, Steve was appointed by the governor as Director of the Missouri Department of Social Services, responsible for more than 8500 staff and 300 local offices. In 2004, he was named President/CEO of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Since his retirement from the Foundation in 2012, Steve now enjoys time with his grandkids and is involved in a variety of volunteer activities in the community.
