The Honorable Howard F. Sachs
The Honorable Howard F. Sachs, 98+
At nearly 100 years of age, Howard still drives himself to the Federal Courthouse to hear cases as a U.S. Federal Judge. He has been a beacon of justice for many years as an attorney and on the U.S. Federal Court. Howard has been active in securing and defending the civil rights of many, particularly the African American community. In the past he has served as board chair of both the Urban League and the Jewish Community Relations Bureau. His nominator says Howard is often called upon by community leaders for his wise perspectives. He is widely praised by clerks and courthouse personnel who have been inspired by his wisdom, as well as fellow judges and community leaders. Howard has two sons and grandchildren in the Kansas City area.
